The Experiment That Did Not Come Out
A sealed world that lost its oxygen, a machine that hunted the ether and found nothing, a mouse utopia that went extinct, and a loose cable that let neutrinos outrun light.
The result was supposed to be the other one. Eight people sealed in a glass world were going to prove a planet in miniature, and the oxygen left. A machine built to find the ether found nothing, and physics had to rearrange itself around the absence. A mouse colony given endless food was supposed to thrive, and it died out. Failure here is not a punchline. It is the data the plan did not order.
Biosphere 2 was the sealed world whose air thinned. The ether hunt found nothing, and that nothing broke the model it was built to confirm. The mouse utopia had endless food and went extinct anyway. The emus were the campaign Australia ran with machine guns, against birds. The faster-than-light neutrinos outran light for five months, until the cable was tightened.
This page is the shelf those results share. Start here for the sealed world and the loose cable, and for the longer record of experiments that answered a question nobody had written down.
